Joaquim Chissano
Born at Malehice, in the Chibuto district of Gaza Province, Mozambique. He was President of Mozambique from 1986 to 2005, and the General Peace Agreement of 4 October 1992 was signed in Rome during his presidency. He was the first laureate of the Mo Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership.
